The trout have been biting on a variety of different baits. More popular baits this week have been mini jigs and blown up nightcrawlers. Popular spots include the south shore of Lake 3 and the northwest corner of Lake 4. The catfish have also been biting on chicken liver and mackerel. Popular spots include the east side of Lake 2 just north of the bridge and the north shore of Lake 3. The bass continue to bite on soft plastics such as senkos and fat ikas. George caught this 30 pound carp on homemade dough bait out of Lake 4!

Join us March 9 for our next scheduled trout stock. Lakes 2 and 4 will split 2,000 pounds of rainbow trout. No California State License needed, just a Santee Lakes daily fish permit. Lakes 2 and 4 will be partially closed to fishing on Tuesday, March 9 to give the fish a chance to acclimate and disperse.
