Lake Jennings Fishing Report

Lake Jennings Staff

  • Stocking:  Another 1,500 lbs. of trout will be added to the lake this week bringing our total stock to 8,500 lbs. so far this season. We'll be stocking back to back weeks to make up for the missed stocking last week. To view an updated stocking schedule, click HERE.
  • What's the catch? The trout were deep this weekend. With this week's stock, expect to see the trout in Siesta and Hermit Coves on Friday and Saturday moving into Eagle and Half Moon Coves later in the weekend. Take advantage of that early morning bite! Pick up some powerbait at the bait shop to fish this week's stock. Bass were caught from boats or off the T-dock this week. The baits of choice were shiners or plastics on drop-shot. The best spots for catfish were along the tower buoy line or Shadow Cove. They were biting on mackerel and garlic nightcrawlers.
  • We love your furry four-legged friends as much as you do, but dogs are not allowed on the recreation side of the lake per our recreation permit with the Dept. of Environmental Health, Division of Drinking Water. The "recreation" side encompasses the bait shop and parking lot, boat dock and parking lot and the road/areas beyond. You may walk your dogs on the campground road. Thank you for your cooperation!
  • We've adjusted our fishing, boating, and camping fees to help offset the extra staff and sanitation required to stay open and keep our visitors safe. For more information about the new fees, please click HERE.
  • Conditions: The current water temperature is 60 degrees. This past weekend was sunny and warm, but expect the temperatures to drop next week providing for some ideal trout fishing. For an updated weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • We're HIRING! We are looking for a new dockhand to join our team. Our dockhands are friendly, courteous, and provide excellent customer service while enforcing the rules and regulations at Lake Jennings. Dockhands are also responsible for the care and maintenance of our boat rental fleet and typically work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If you think you or someone you know would enjoy working at the lake, click HERE for more information.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
