Lake Jennings Fishing Report

12-9-2020
Lake Jennings Staff

YES, THE LAKE IS STILL OPEN! Find the full update HERE.

The new stay at home order has frozen camping reservations but the lake will still be open for boating, fishing and picnicking with members of your shared household.
There is no gathering or boating with anyone outside your household permitted.
Please remember to wear your masks, social distance and be patient with staff.
The campground will not be accepting any reservations through January 15th.

  • Stocking:  Another 1,500 lbs. of trout was added to the lake the week of November 30th. Stocking will be biweekly throughout the season to reach a total of 19,000 lbs. So far 4,000 lbs. of trout have been stocked! The next stocking will be the week of December 14th. 10% of every stocking are over 3 lbs!
  • What's the catch?  Trout were schooling in Hermits Cove this weekend. Limits were pulled on powerbait and hookup baits. Catfish were biting in Shadow Cove on mackerel and nightcrawlers. Anglers were catching bass from the t-dock and Hermits buoy line this weekend. Bass were biting on shiners and Roboworms.
  • New Lake Hours: The lake has transitioned to our fall hours, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The lake will be CLOSED Christmas Day.
  • Conditions: The lake is still filling at 20 million gallons per day and should be full by mid-week next week. The current water temperature is 67 degrees. For an updated weather report in Lakeside this weekend, click HERE.
  • Toys for Tots: We are excited to collect toys for the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program this year. Many have been impacted financially by the pandemic, so we’re hoping to make this holiday season a little brighter for local families in need. If you’d like to participate, you can drop off a new, unwrapped toy through Sunday, December 13 in the Toys for Tots collection box at the bait shop. Or purchase a child's fishing rod from the bait shop and drop it in the box! Acceptable gifts and toys are any that you would consider appropriate for your own child or relative, as long as it does not contain food or resemble realistic weapons.
  • We're HIRING! We're looking for a Volunteer Park Host or two to live and work in our campground. Exchange a minimum of 20 hours of labor per week (including weekends and holidays) for a campsite with water, sewer, and electricity. For more information, click HERE.
  • We love receiving pictures from our fishermen and campers! If you have a picture to share, please send it to ranger@lakejennings.org and we may feature it in our newsletter or social media pages.
