Get ready for Trinity River steelhead!
12-10-2020
Jeff Goodwin
Finally we have some wet weather patterns lined up this week, and with plenty of Trinity River steelhead lurking in the deep dark holes of this pristine river system, steelhead season is oficially here! We will be booking January-February Trinity River steelhead drift fishing trips with Captain Justin Thompson. Justin often manages to get Trinity River steelhead fishing clients into some good steelhead fishing, even in the toughest water conditions. Add some good water flows, a bit of color to the water, and a shot of fresh run steelhead, and you've got the makings of a very good steelhead fishing trip. The Trinity River is very scenic and overnight accomodations are plentiful in the Weaverville area. A short drive the morning of the trip and you'll be on the water hunting both wild and hatchery steelhead. Justin's steelhead trip earlier this week yielded two beautiful steelhead for his clients under nearly unfishable conditions. 320 cfs and gin clear water made for a tough bite but Justin still managed to guide his clients into a few hot steelhead. Justin's calendar is full through December, but January dates are available for Trinity River steelhead. These are two party trips which include a full day of steelhead fishing from a drift boat and all gear is provided. Dress warm, bring a thermos with your favorite hot beverage, and prepare yourself for a great day on the water. Jaynie will provide all other details for your trip and can be reached at (530) 510-2925. Booking your trip is quick and easy when working with Jaynie. Stay tuned for more Trinity River steelhead fishing trips in the coming weeks. Its going to be a great 2021 Trinity River steelhead season. Thank you!
