Happy Fall Y'all!

  • Stocking: Stay tuned for information regarding trout season! Keep your eyes peeled for the Season Opener. We will be posting the stocking schedule and event details in the coming weeks.
  • What's the catch? It was a warm weekend and the bluegill were still biting! Fishermen were using a third of a nightcrawler and reeling them in from all over the lake by boat and shoreline. Catfish are still going strong in the early morning and on Friday night. Hermit and Shadow Cove are the places to be. Try using Magic Bait Chicken Liver to hook one of our channel cats. Our rangers recommend fishing the shallows during the fall as catfish will continue to feed on bait fish until the water temperature drops. The lake water temperature is currently 79 degrees. Bass are hiding out in the reeds and near the t-dock and Sentry Cove. They are still biting on plastic worms such as Aaron's morning dawn roboworms and watermelon senkos.
  • Check out all of our upcoming EVENTS at the lake and campground!
  • Friday Night Fishing: If you keep coming, we will keep staying open late. For now, every Friday night from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. the lake is open for night fishing, boating and evening picnicking. Remember, full sized lanterns are required after 8:00 p.m. and the lake entrance gate closes at 10:00 p.m.
  • Spooky Camp-O-Ween: Open to registered campers only, our Spooky Camp-O-Ween event includes creepy crafts, costume parade, spooky scavenger hunt, and culminates in a campsite decorating contest with prizes. There are a few campgrounds left for the last 2 weekends in October. Book your campsite HERE!
  • Be mindful of vegetation along our shorelines. The lake waterline has dropped about 10 feet the last couple of months and there is underlying vegetation that will get caught up in your motors if you're not careful.

  • Campground News: Summer is over and long term campsites are available! We have full and partial hookups available and some even have a view of the lake! If you would like to know long term availability or have questions, please call (619) 596-1333.
