  • Stocking: The lake has been stocked with a total of 5,000 pounds of catfish this summer. The last catfish stocking was the week of September 7th.
  • What's the catch? Catfish are still biting on mackerel and chicken liver. Anglers reported catching limits in Siesta and Shadow Coves early in the morning and at night. Bluegill and Redear are all over the lake right now. The bite is hot on wax worms and meal worms. Fishermen reeled in some bass near the t-dock on garlic nightcrawlers. Others were productive in Sentry Cove using shiners and on the shoreline over in Cloister Cove. Try your luck using senkos, rapala lures and worms.
  • HIKE, BIKE & PADDLE: The lake will be open for hiking, biking, and non-motorized boating on Thursday, September 24th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Rent a paddle boat, kayak, or rowboat, launch your own canoe/kayak, bike or hike the roadway! The top parking lot will be open, but the road will be closed to vehicular traffic to allow for safe biking and hiking. Take in the sunset and pack a picnic! **No fishing will be permitted during these hours.** Check out all of our upcoming EVENTS at the lake and campground!
  • Friday Night Fishing: If you keep coming, we will keep staying open late. For now, every Friday night from 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. the lake is open for night fishing, boating and evening picnicking. Remember, full sized lanterns are required after 8:00 p.m.  and the lake entrance gate closes at 10:00 p.m.
  • Campground News: Summer is over and long term campsites are available! We have full and partial hookups available and some even have a view of the lake! If you would like to know long term availability or have questions, please call (619) 596-1333.
  • Help Wanted!  We are hiring a part-time Assistant Maintenance Ranger to help maintain the cleanliness and security of the campground, lake and surrounding areas, in addition to facility maintenance and landscape work as needed at the campground and lake. We are also hiring an Assistant Recreation Ranger to work in our bait shop and provide exemplary customer service. The Assistant Recreation Ranger helps maintain the cleanliness and security of the lake and surrounding areas, as well as answers questions regarding fishing and lake regulations, assists in selling fishing permits, bait, and tackle to customers.
