Big bites...Big salmon...Big push of salmon on Sacramento River!

With what was over a week and a half of scratch salmon fishing, the Sacramento River king salmon run has moved in bringing with it some huge king salmon.

I couldn't help but notice the number of salmon that arrived on Sunday afternoon with huge kings rolling constantly, below us, next to us and immediately upriver of where we were fishing.  This push of salmon set the stage for the big bites we are experiencing this week.

Without a doubt we are getting the bigger bites on sardine wrapped "old style"kwikfish plugs.  Back bouncing has been the top producer for us as we are targeting the big Sacramento River salmon daily.

Wednesday seemed to be the day that the river drops stablilzed and the salmon were on the bite.  We have had others do very well for our guests upriver and downriver this week.  The best waters have been spread out from Anderson Balls Ferry downriver through Chico.

September has for many seasons been a top month to target Sacramento River king salmon and from what I have seen recently this September is going to be no different.  With the help of Ryan Tripp, Steve Lowery, Mike Rasmussen, Jacob Frye, Jerry Frye and Robert Petty we have been able to send clients home with slabs of beautiful Sacramento River king salmon fillets.

If catching a Sacramento River king salmon is somethig you could see yourself doing, have Dave Jacobs Professional Guide Service help you achieve that...we have been perfecting Sacramento River king salmon fishing since 1985!
