SurfRider Has Arrived to Dockside Charters

Dockside Charters Staff

At long last the SurfRider has arrived in Depoe Bay. After a months long refit she is as fine a Delta charter boat as you will find. Virtually every aspect of the boat has been renewed, repaired, repainted and fitted out with the latest electronics package on the market. Owned and operated by Tyler Turner this is the culmination of a long time dream. Tyler has long been accustomed to overcoming challenges throughout his life. A spinal injury at age 19 resulted in paraplegia. He has gone on to become the first ever (and to date only) paraplegic to be issued a 100 ton masters license by the Coast Guard. He has worked for years in tandem with his father on the charter boat Tacklebuster gaining the respect of the fleet as a safe, successful operator and expert fisherman. He is a husband and the father of two daughters and has now added boat owner to his list of accomplishments. Tyler lives his life with the philosophy of "No Compromise". The SurfRider is chartering for all aspects of our fisheries as well as Whale Watching. A strong addition to the Dockside Fleet, like all the boats in our fleet, setting the standard for the industry. Don't miss your opportunity to go out on the SurfRider.

The SurfRider is out today on her inaugural Halibut trip, no report yet.

The bottom fish trips had limits of Rockfish, the Ling Cod bite was slow. Crabbing continues to be very good.

Marine conditions today are outrageously good. Small swells and very little wind. A great day to be open the water.

We have not had any Salmon boats out for a few days, so no valid update.

The latest reports on Tuna still put them out of range at present.
