Tradewinds Crew
Halibut
NO Halibut outings this week as the ocean was just to rough especially on the outside to give folks a good trip. Its open next the weekend of July 30, 31 August 1st.
Salmon
Ocean a little tough out there in deeper water to take salmon trips. One trip that was heard on the radio today was a very low catch rate as it has been since the beginning of the season. Hopefully that will improve at some time.
Bottom fishing & crabbing
Crabbing as it has been most of the summer was again spectacular today. The bottom fishing had two fronts today. If you fished in deeper water the Lingcod catch was excellent. If you stayed in the shallower water the rockfish bite was excellent. Depending on the boat you were on was a good indicator of what you caught

7-6-2020Salmon fishing after a decent report yesterday from some sport boat operators only produced three take downs and the folks did get to reel on the fish but about halfway to the boat they spit the hook. So we are still waiting on some fish to get to our area. There were a few Chinook today on sport boats caught up north off the Siletz River but that was the only catch report we heard today. No salmon boats out today but we did hear thru some of the sport fishing boats that there now a few Coho salmon out there being caught. No word on the keepers as you might know that all Coho salmon caught to retain must have a healed adipose fin. We do have a boat going out there tomorrow so we will have some reports for you then.
