We had an absolutely Smokin Hot Bite today. Early limits of Rockfish and Limits of Ling Cod for almost everyone. Additionally the good measure the grade of fish was excellent. Crabbing remains slow.
Due to the cancellation of the Fleet of Flowers Ceremony we will be fishing on Memorial Day (Monday). We have space available Tuesday through the rest of the week.
The City of Depoe Bay has approved reopening of short term rentals (hotels/motels etc.) May 21st. Hopefully they can gear up and get back to business for the Memorial Weekend. Show your support by reserving with our local businesses. Chinook Winds Casino previously announced reopening with modified hours on the 21st.
In order to meet the Governor's criteria for Phase One re-opening we are implementing a number of new procedures/policies. Please pay close attention, these are the things that will keep us fishing. They are as follows:

If anyone is symptomatic stay home, but call us and let us know.
Call the day before your trip to make sure there are no last minute changes.
Limited office access.
All trips must be PRE-PAID. Everyone needs to have their FISHING LICENSE and any required tags prior to arrival. Available at myodfw.com At this time fishing is authorized for non-residents BUT NOT CRABBING (not our idea, it was mandated by ODFW).
Limited passenger loads.
Staggered check-in times. Please arrive as close as possible to your check-in time.
Social Distancing onboard and shoreside closely monitored.
Masks required onboard and onshore, if you need to take it off, sit in your car. BRING YOUR OWN MASK.
Restricted cabin access.
No Coffee will be provided due to restricted cabin access, if you like bring your own.
Foul weather gear recommended due to restricted cabin access. (no crowding in the cabin)
We want everyone to come and enjoy fishing with us. In order for us to resume operations and keep the doors open we depend on your cooperation with all the new policies. They are not optional, they are required.
Dockside Charters has been working diligently to develop Standard Operating Procedures that will allow us to resume operations while safeguarding our clients, captains, crews and shoreside personnel. What that means is paying special attention to: social distancing, PPE, sanitation, reduced passenger loads, limited office access, eliminating bottleneck areas that cause crowding and any other issues that may impact our ability to provide the service that you have become accustom to.
We are resuming operations with the understanding that we are doing so in a safe, responsible manner.

Here are the ODFW recommended dates for Halibut. Dates have still not been formally adopted. Typically The recommended dates are adopted.
Spring All Depth: 171,103 pounds
May 14,15,16 May 21,22,23 May 28,29,30
June 11,12,13 June 18,19,20
July 9,10,11 Back up dates if quota remains July 23,24,25
Summer All Depth: 67,898 pounds
Aug 6,7,8 then every other Thursday, Friday, Saturday until October 31 or the quota is caught
Nearshore Season: Quota = 32,591 pounds Open May 1, seven days a week, inside the 40 fathom line, through the earlier of the quota or Oct, 31
2020 sport bottom fish : new sub-bag limit of one China, Copper or Quillback Rockfish. General Marine bag limit remains five rockfish and two Ling Cod.
The hatchery mark selective Coho Salmon season from Cape Falcon to the Humbug Mt. will be open from June 27 through the earlier of August 16 or the quota of 22,000 adipose fin-clipped Coho Salmon. There will be also be a much more limited non-selective Coho Salmon season from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mt. in September. This non-selective season will open on September 4 and be open each Friday and Saturday through the earlier of September 30 or the quota of 3,000 non mark selective Coho Salmon. Coho minimum length of 16”.

2024 Halibut Season
SPRING: May 1 - June 30th, 7 days a week. Limit TWO fish per person. For 2024, the regulation states we will now be able to keep Rockfish, Black Cod, and Lingcod on our offshore Halibut Trips!
