We had a great group on the Sacramento River this weekend!  The trout fishing is about average for this time of the year and you have to work for your bites on every drift.  Fine tuning presentations and maximizing the time your presentations are in the strike zone is really important.  Driftin artificial single salmon eggs behind salmon redds is the most produtive for spin fishing anglers.  Bobber doggin or side drifting is best in the low, clear water conditions we're seeing now.  Flows are dropping to 4,000 cfs this week and that will make fishing a little tough, but some really nice trout will still be caught looking forward.  Soon we'll have the spring water releases from Shasta and we'll see the start of a really good bite!  Until then, hard work on the water pays off at the end of the day.
