What do you do when it's January and you've been watching the gauge on your favorite river go up all week and you know it's going to take a few days or a week to drop back into fishing shape?

It might be time to explore the small water of the North Coast and Lower Columbia River. These medium, small and smaller basins often drain faster and come into shape more quickly than the larger basins.

North Coast district fish biologist Robert Bradley walks you through the North Fork Nehalem River, Nenanicum River and Gnat Creek systems and talks about gear selection and how to read the small water.
