It was a classic “Ridgeapalooza” today meeting all the criteria that makes this region legendary in the fishing world. Where else can one find a single day that produces excellent fishing for wahoo, quality yellowfin tuna, dorado, yellowtail, and even a handful of great bottom exotics in the same spot? For this caliber of action, consistently, the answer is nowhere.

What a great day of fishing and catching. Following yesterday’s paltry action this was exactly what the setting called for. Perfect conditions, wahoo moving in on the full moon, etc.etc. Ideal. So much so that we opted to hold fast and see if the trend carries forward into tomorrow. The magnetism from the still tremendous offshore bluefin potential above has been extreme to say the least. The bird in hand however is tangible. And the grade of these ridge wahoo is fantastic, old school. Eighty pounds was the biggest today and at least a handful others were within fifteen to twenty pounds of that high mark. Fall ten day fishing at its finest!

Photo today features our sincere friend, long time Royal Star veteran Jose Arellano with one of his nice wahoo landed today on the iron.
