Owens Lake Fish Report - Open year round for catch and release fishing only.

Water Conditions: GOOD
As of December 11 the flow above Hot Creek confluence is 101 CFS.
The water is clear and cold.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: GOOD
There are still a lot of fish in the Upper Owens right now but pretty lethargic.
There is a baetis hatch midday but fairly short. Once they start feeding they are pretty voracious. Go big.
Recommended Flies:
Olive WD-40 in sizes 20-22 and RSL's size 18-20 have been top producers early. Midday as the feed gets going go to big and buggy ... Pt's, Hares Ear, Prince Nymphs in sizes 16 to 18 under a San Juan=2 0Worm or Glo Bug. They are hungry and know winter is coming!

Today we found several nice spots of big fish. They just didn't want to bite for us. We had very large Tuna boiling around the boat many times, but were not lucky enough to hook any of them.
