We did some necessary prospecting today for limited results. Plenty of life was found, and plenty of rail time was had, but catching was spotty at best. It looks like it’s going to be a one by one affair here. That of course is better than none by none.
Recognizing the fact that it’s going to be a scratch is important for anglers as it requires a mind set geared for that style of fishing. Rail time, focus, and determination are the keys to making a catch.
At least one more full day will be spent “on the beach” before we head back offshore to try our hand on the bluefin and yellowfin.
Seeking to fulfill the variety side of this voyage in both scenery and species we’ll see what we can wrench from these thus far quiet waters tomorrow. Thank goodness the weather is right. Sublime.
Photo today features long time Royal Star angler Tom Lawarence with one of a couple of fine yellowtail he wrangled aboard.
