Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report

9-22-2008
Bruce A. Smith

The weather continues to improve and the fishing has followed suite. We had steady action on those beautiful Guadalupe Island yellowfin all day long. Late this afternoon the momentum continued to build as the average size of fish kept rising. The fishing was similar to the lower banks targeting the bug ones. Slide onto a spot and hook a few, do it again and hook a few more and then slide onto a spot that sticks with the boat for hours! As well the crew needed to go into the holds to rearrange the big fish, stacked like a big can of sardines with orderly rows. These last two trips have been some of our best for 2008 as the fish have been mostly trophies. This evening we left the island and will fish off shore as we work our way home.
