The East Flows Are Down
6-2-2019
Kens Sporting Goods Staff
The East is down to about 256 cfs right now and is fishing pretty well for most anglers. With this lower flow it’s easier to get around and easier to get your nymphs and streamers down near the bottom where they need to be. Most anglers are reporting anywhere from 5 to 20 fish per day, most in the 12 to 18 inch range but there has been several reports of fish over 20” and even a couple up to around 28” being caught. The fish are super healthy right now as is the whole system down there. Nymphing has been the best technique though there has been a couple anglers doing well with streamers.
Recommended Flies:
Dead drift crayfish, sculpzilla, double bunny, peanut envy, slump buster, moal leech, zuddler, Hell razor craw, prince, radiation baetis, demon midge, blow torch, darth baetis, pheasant tail, rainbow warrior, rainbow assassin, wd-40, flashback emerger, San Juan worm, squirmy wormy, silver streak, prince nymph, soft hackle, pheasant tail.
