2 Days Aboard the Ranger 85
9-12-2008
Robert Medina
We had a great 2 day trip aboard the Ranger 85 with Captain Frank Ursitti out of H&M Landing. We headed into Mexican waters with hopes of Tuna and Yellowtail and other exotics. We loaded up on bait and Cpt. Frank gave everybody a thorough briefing on the basics of tuna fishing.
The first day was spent trolling and scanning for signs of schools of tuna. We had several jig stops where anglers boated many a yellowfin and the occasional skipjack. Paul prepared wonderful meals for hungry anglers and always kept fresh and delicious snacks in the galley. As darkness was falling on the first day, we came up to a paddy that was loaded with hungry dorado, just about every angler loaded up on some Mahi on that stop! After the first day Anglers checked their gear for the next day's fishing and sat down to a great dinner and a movie on one of the flat screen plasma TVs aboard the Ranger 85.
The second day Cpt. Frank decided to head west and then work our way back home while scanning for paddies. We hit several that were loaded with hungry yellowtail that were eager biters on anything we threw at them; bait, heavy jigs and surface iron. We boated many a yellowtail that afternoon. The crew really put forth a tremendous effort undoing tangles and gaffing numerous yellows. If you're looking to fish a roomy and comfortable boat with a knowledgeable captain and professional crew, book your next trip with the Ranger 85. You won't be disappointed! Tight Lines everyone!
