Shasta Lake , fun in the sun!

Shasta Lake started our day with clean green water and 52 degree surface temperatures.  As the day progressed, we found a bite that was a little better than yesterday, but everyone definitely had to work for their fish.  The rainbows are full of Plankton and I think its hurting the bite a bit.  The browns are hungry, but still a little sluggish in the cold water.  I have noticed an upswing in the fight these fish are displaying though, and thats good news!  By days end we saw water temps as high as 58 degrees, so things are moving fast on the surface.  With continued warm weather, we should see a sharp rise the next few weeks.  That should start the Shad migration down into the main body of the lake which will pull more trout down as well. Things will pick up a bit and we'll continue to catch some great trout!
