One $3.00 entry ticket qualifies you at each of these 4 lakes: Lake Camanche, Lake Chabot, San Pablo Reservoir, and Los Vaqueros Reservoir. All proceeds go to The American Cancer Society. Prizes include trips, tackle, cash, tickets to sporting events and much more!

TROUT: Trout fishing has been very good for many anglers this week at Lake Camanche. Randy McCutcheon, from Fremont, caught a fine limit of fish by 11 a.m. on Tuesday. He had fish up to 4 pounds, and caught them all in the Narrows, drifting Power Bait just under the surface.

Jason Barnes, John Pendleton, and Justin Augustine, from Placerville, rented 2 boats from North Shore on Saturday. They caught about 12 fish between them, with the big fish at 3.3 pounds. They were trolling near Hat Island with various Rapalas, including rainbow pattern.

Shore fishing at the North Shore Day Use Point has been very good this week. Dick Thomas, (creator of the Magic Bullet lure), fished with 3 buddies and caught several limits of trout using Magic Bullets. His big fish was a real beauty at 6.8 pounds. Magic Bullets are available at North Shore and South Shore marina stores. Shore fishing at the South Shore Pond has also been producing many limits of trout this week. Power Bait, Power Eggs, Magic Bullets, and Kastmasters have all been working well.

This week's trout plant from Mt. Lassen hatchery will be 1,200 pounds of fish, and will be planted at South Shore. 600 pounds of fish will go into the Pond, and 600 pounds into the lake.

BASS: We would like to thank Western Outdoor News for holding their bass tournament at South Shore on Saturday. They had 28 boats go out, and we congratulate Don Buie and Gene Buie, from Camanche, for their winning weight of 20.81 pounds. They also had the big fish at 6.79 pounds. We also thank The Valley Backlashers for holding their club meet at Camanche on Saturday. They had 17 boats go out, and we congratulate Jim Rawlings and John Mills for their winning weight of 20.26 pounds, and they also had the big fish at 4.94 pounds. Most fish were caught in 15-20 feet of water, and Senkos, jigs, and drop shot worms were the baits that were most productive.

9 year old Matthew Hicks, from Lodi, was fishing with his Dad this week near the South Shore docks and caught a 24 inch, 6 pound bass. He was using a green 5 inch Senko worm. Way to go Matthew!!

CRAPPIE: NEW Lake Record - Aaron Barnhart of Elk Grove caught and released a 3.06 lb. crappie. He used a Jig in Red/Green at the Lancha Plana area.

We encourage all anglers to report their stories, comments, or concerns to either North Shore Store, South Shore Store, or to us by email at eporray@camancherecreation.com. Thanks again for choosing Lake Camanche for your recreation destination.
