We were excited at grey light this morning because not only did we have beautiful weather - we also started catching a few yellowfin out of our morning drift. When we started moving in the morning, we saw good sign of bluefin tuna right away and got a couple of 50-70lb fish out of our first stop. We had high hopes but after hitting several meaty spots with only a few bites it was apparent that the zone we were in was not biting. Thankfully for us there was a little bit of sign of 18-30lb yellowfin around that kept us busy until the early afternoon. Around 3 in the afternoon all the life went away and we drove around for next to nothing the rest of the day.
We ended the day just shy of 100 mixed tuna and everyone had the opportunity to put at least a couple in the sack.

And we did see several spots of 50-70lb fish mid morning, but unfortunately...... Read More
