With beautiful-working weather on our side, a needle in a hay stack is probably the best way to describe how our day started. It was just after breakfast when machines lit up and we were engaged in bluefin tuna. After roughly fifteen minutes and not yet landing any of our first three we hooked - everyone got the hint that these weren't small ones. By the time the first one hit the deck, it was too late and we already had several heartbreaks and mishaps.
Being the fishermen we are, everyone kept their heads up and was just thankful for the opportunity to hook and fight one of these hundred pound bluefin. When the dust finally settled just after lunch, the five we landed were now big fish stories of a lifetime. With not much tuna luck in the afternoon, we still were able to enjoy some quality 15-25lb yellowtail fishing on kelps to call and end the day with great success.
Sticking around and trying our luck again tomorrow.

The big fish studs are as follows:
Peter Kwong- 136lber
Rod Thomas- 125lber
George Iwashita- 134lber
Mark Takeuchi- 153lber
13 year old Anthony hernandez- 114lber

Good Night,

The Boys

We went through the 1.5 day area where there had been plenty of fish to be found, but for us there was nothing but scraps. We went long and were fortunate in that it paid off and the crew did a great job to ensure that we had limit style fishing on yellowtail. Hoping for Bluefin tomorrow, The Guys...... Read More
