Hello E Mail Club Members
This is the update for the week from Davey's Locker. The fishing has gone wide open and this is the time to take advantage of it. A large volume of Dorado and Yellowtail have moved into the So. Californian area and all of our open party boats have had a shot at them. The fish are as close as 6 miles and are filling in more every day.
The Freelance will be going offshore for the next few trips to take a shot at the Dorado and the Yellowtail. The boat leaves at 7am and returns at 5pm. The way the fish are pushing in we will probably start running Limited Load Extended ?? day trips next week. When we make this schedule change our e mail club members will be the first to know. The Freelance is also running Twilight trips every night departing at 7pm. The Bass fishing continues to be strong for the Twilight runs and the passenger loads are light.
The Tide Change has an Open Party trip leaving this Saturday the 9th at 9pm. This trip will be going offshore to target Dorado, Yellowtail, and Albacore and Yellowfin Tuna. This trip is limited to 22 anglers at a cost of $175. He has been fishing offshore all week so he knows where the fish are.
The Western Pride has ?? day trips this week. They depart at 6am and 12:30 pm. This Saturday they will be on ?? day duty from 7am-5pm. They have been focusing on the Bass but may look at some kelps if the opportunity arises.
The Caliber is running Limited Load 1 day trip this Friday the 8th. The trip is limited to 16 anglers at a cost of $225. He will also be going offshore to play with the Dorado, Tail and Tuna. The Caliber also has Shark trips every Saturday nights and some Fridays. These trips are at a cost of $75 and depart at 6:30pm and return at 1am. The Shark fishing has been strong all summer and there are no sign of the Makos slowing down.

8-3-2008The Tide Change has another red hot day on the water. Capt. John Jordan called in 1 Dorado, 11 Yellowtail, 7 Albacore, and 1 Blue fin Tuna at 1pm and is still fishing. Hello E Mail Club Members, We have lots of action moving in around the Newport Beach area. Last night, Thursday, the twilight fleet ran into some Jumbo Squid. One of the Newport Boats had about 18 Squid going to 30 pounds. The Freelance will be looking hard all weekend for these big guys and falling back to Sand Bass fishing. The Bass fishing has been fair for the Twilight...... Read More
