Hello E Mail Club Members,
We have lots of action moving in around the Newport Beach area. Last night, Thursday, the twilight fleet ran into some Jumbo Squid. One of the Newport Boats had about 18 Squid going to 30 pounds. The Freelance will be looking hard all weekend for these big guys and falling back to Sand Bass fishing. The Bass fishing has been fair for the Twilight trips with some nights being stronger then others.
The Tide Change will be headed out Friday the 1st fishing Saturday the 2nd. This trip is a private charter but the Charter Master is looking to fill a few spots for this trip. Sunday night they have an Open party trip leaving with about 8 spots left fishing Monday the 4th. These will be Island Freelance trips with the possibility of some Kelp hoping action. There have been some good counts of Yellowtail at both Islands and some boats have started to get into some Dorado, Blue Fin Tuna, and Yellowtail offshore. Give us a call to get information on all of these trips.
Davey's Locker will be running ?? day trips Saturday and Sunday. Saturday the Western Pride is running a 7am-5pm ?? day trip, and on Sunday the Freelance has a Bass Pro Shop sponsored trip from 6am-6pm limited to 45 anglers. These trips will most likely be taking advantage of the strong Sand Bass fishing on the coast unless something better pops up at Catalina Island.
Finally we will also be running ?? day trips on the Western Pride this Sunday the 3rd. They will be departing at 6am and 12:30 pm. The weather is going to be hot this weekend so give us a call in the office to make reservations for any of these light load trips.
