Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report
7-24-2008
Bruce A. Smith
The action at Cedros started out a bit slow today, but throughout the day we gained momentum. We were chasing bird schools of yellowtail, but it wasn't until after lunch that we found a spot that stuck with us the rest of the afternoon. There were fish chasing baits and jigs within a few feet of the boat, and Cedros delivered a few token surprises as well. We ended up with several white sea bass on the drift, taking sardines mixed in with the yellows. There were a few spots of the bigger fish late this afternoon, but these schools were up and down in a hurry and we only managed to boat one of the 30+ yellowtail. This evening we are at anchor in the lee of the island trying to catch a few mackerel to increase our chances with the big fish tomorrow. All in all we had a great day today aboard the Shogun
