Hi Chad, this big boy was caught in Los Barriles, Mexico??we were there for the Van Wormer Dorado Shootout Tournament at the "Palmas De Cortez" only bad thing is our Team didn't get this during the Tournament but the following day. We were way out in the middle of the Sea of Cortez and the water was like glass we were trolling for Dorado when we came upon this Bull hanging out on the surface with a Sea Turtle, as soon as he seen the bait that was cast out in front of him it was like something out of a Jaws Movie you could see him charge for the bait turning colors as he got excited and the water waking behind him as he charged and leaped out of the water and took the whole thing in one bite a 12 inch ballyhoo. The fight was on for about 25 minutes as we watched him do the Dorado Dance Flying out of the water it was AWESOME. Patrick Waid lives in Camarillo. The Fish weighed 50 lbs or more we didn't have anything to weigh it and it was early in the day and very hot so the deck hand filleted it and put it in the cooler to stay fresh. But the fun doesn't stop there, yesterday??his 10 year old daughter Samantha??caught a 70 lb Sailfish, Pat caught a 120 lb??& a 270 lb Blue Marlin. Today is his last day in Los Barriles and he just called in to report??his daughter??caught a 30 lb, his 12 year old son Tyler caught a 40 lb and?? Pat caught (2) 50 lb Yellowfin Tunas to say the least this was an EPIC trip for the Waid Family.
