Salmon Action Still Rages Off the San Mateo Coastline!
7-16-2018
California Delta Chambers & Visitors Bureau
The salmon action still rages off the San Mateo coastline. Huge schools of salmon have been holding off Mussel rock, W Body and off the Deep Reef with good schools holding off along the beaches and off shore. Most of the charter boats are coming in with full two-fish limits of salmon ranging in size from 12 to 22 pounds. Most agree that this has been the best salmon fishing season in the past 6 years. Also, as a bonus there are a good number of whales in the area along with hundreds of birds feeding on krill and live bait. The best lures being used on the troll are the Apex-Troll E lures in watermelon, flame orange, black dots or pink haze. On some days the seas have been rough but that hasn’t stopped the salmon bite.
Take time to go out and enjoy the great outdoors, beside to check weather conditions out in the big waters and stay safe to fish another day. Until next tide have a good fishing day.
