Good fishing this afternoon on 20-40 pound Yellowtail, in very nice weather. We are anchored up for the night and will give this another try tomorrow. We will then head offshore Thursday in hopes of locating a new area of tuna fish.

7-14-2008The fishing was on the tough side offshore today for albacore and bluefin tuna, we covered a tremendous amount of water for twenty two Albacore and nine bluefin tuna. We are currently headed southeast with our sights for the time being set on some coastal yellowtail fishing. We departed on the annual Newell 5 day trip. After getting what appears to be a nice load of bait we cleared Point Loma at 1430 hrs. and headed south. We had our safety talk and tackle seminar on offshore fishing all rolled into one and by 1900 hrs. We had jigs in the water looking for to get the skunk off the boat.
