This is Chris checking in from Davey's Locker. Last weeks contest was a great success, I hope you won. If not, we have another fun contest this week.
First off, the Tide Change has a number of trips on the Books for the next two weeks. They will be fishing on the 11th, 14th, and 19th. These are Island Freelance trips departing the night before at 9pm limited to 22 anglers at a cost of $150. Yellowtail are the main focus but White Sea Bass could be in the game plan in addition to the other island species.
The Freelance is running ?? day trips almost everyday with large numbers of Barracuda and Sand Bass being caught here on the coast. They have also boated a few Halibut and White Sea bass to keep things interesting. Coastal fishing will be the general game plan until the fishing improves at Catalina Island at which point she will start to head across the pond as we like to say here in the business.
On the ?? day scene, the Western Pride has also been targeting the Barracuda and Sand Bass with great numbers also being posted. They have been fishing close to the Huntington Flats area and are ready for the Sand Bass to go full speed anytime. This is the game plan for the Twilight trips on the Freelance, as well.
The Caliber has Shark trips every Saturday night and some Friday nights. They have been putting the hurt on some big Mako Sharks on the last couple of trips with some Blues mixed in to keep you on your toes. Some of the Makos have been going upwards of 300 pounds so this is the time to test out the drags on your heavy gear.
On a final note, we are proud to introduce the Ocean Explorer which will be running Whale Watch and Dolphin trips year round here at Davey's Locker. This is a very large boat which is well suited for people who do not get out on the water much, if at all. This makes it perfect to introduce a friend or a loved one to the world of Sport fishing. They will be running 2 ?? hours trips at 9am, noon, 3pm and 6pm everyday.
Well now you know, so give us a call here in the office to make reservations for any of our trips and check your e-mail for the contest later this week. Just a hint, remember the contents of this e mail, because the contest will be based on it.

FISHING ACTIVITY REPORTED FROM: DAVEY'S LOCKER NEWPORT BEACH (949) 673-1434 MIGRATORY SAND BASS! It looks like it might be starting to HAPPEN; the Bass, both Sand Bass and Calico Bass are mounted up on the "spots" and this is usually an indication that the spawn is about to start. The 1/2 DAY trips on the "WESTERN PRIDE" and the TWILIGHT trips on the "FRELANCE" have been seeing much more consistent bites on all of the trips and we expect...... Read More
