MIGRATORY SAND BASS!

It looks like it might be starting to HAPPEN; the Bass, both Sand Bass and Calico Bass are mounted up on the "spots" and this is usually an indication that the spawn is about to start. The 1/2 DAY trips on the "WESTERN PRIDE" and the TWILIGHT trips on the "FRELANCE" have been seeing much more consistent bites on all of the trips and we expect to get better and better.

LOOK OUT, HERE COMES 200- 400, PER TRIP, SAND BASS COUNTS on 1/2 DAY, 3/4 DAY and TWILIGHT TRIPS!

1/2 DAY ("WESTERN PRIDE") SCHEDULE:

We have (2) trips EVERY DAY through July 6th on the "WESTERN PRIDE". The first trip leaves daily at 6:00 AM and the second trip leaves daily at 12:30 PM. Both trips on each day, July 5th and 6th require prepayment (this is we don't have to oversell the boat and someone shows up and ultimately gets disappointed if the boat is full). All other 1/2 DAY trips on the "WESTERN PRIDE" are regular, open party trips, with reservations highly recommended and you should arrive at the landing at least 1/2 hour prior to scheduled departure time. Come have a blast catching BASS on the 1/2 DAY trips!

3/4 DAY ("FREELANCE"/"CALIBER") SCHEDULE:

If the BASS "continue on their present course" the 3/4 DAY trips will fish coastal. Local trips provide significantly more fishing time than fishing Catalina Island for Calico Bass and Bonito and usually, the bags are much fuller! With the exception of Saturday, June 28th, we have 3/4 DAY trips scheduled EVERY DAY through July 5th. Friday's trip, June 27th, is on the "CALIBER" (good crew and excellent Skipper, Jack). Sunday's trip on the "FREELANCE" is a Limited Load, Extended, 3/4 DAY trip. The same is true for Friday and Saturday, July 4th & 5th. These trips are designed to carry only 60% of the boat's passenger capacity and provide a more enjoyable, comfortable trip, with an additional 1.5 hours of fishing time. Advance pay is required on the Limited Load trips We also have a few spots available on the "BASS PRO SHOPS" sponsored trip on Sunday, July 6th on the "FREEALNCE"; so call the office for information and reservations. (Wow, that's a confusing schedule, but call the office and they'll summarize for you.)

TWILIGHT FISHING ("FREELANCE") SCHEDULE:

This is the simplest of all schedules. The "FREELANCE" is scheduled to run a TWILIGHT trip EVERY EVENING departing at 7:00 PM. With the SAND BASS showing, these should be very productive trips, not to mention relaxing trips, after a hard day at work. Reservations are recommended as we get into the better bite on the BASS; the passenger loads will definitely start to increase and we don't want anybody left out.

SHARK FISHING ("CALIBER") SCHEDULE:

SHARK trips have been very productive with lots of MAKO'S hooked, a few boated and taken home for the grill and "tons" of BLUE SHARK around (which are usually released). Jack Lester, owner and operator of the boat is an expert SHARK fisherman and you'd be doing yourself a favor to go out with him if you're into "Bigger Game". We have trips scheduled for each Saturday evening, June 28th and July 5th, leaving at 6:30 PM. Advance reservations are recommended since these trips are Limited Load trips and quite popular.

COME PREPARED TO DO BATTLE WITH SOME SPECIES OF "JAWS"!

FULL DAY TRIPS ("TIDE CHANGE") SCHEDULE:

YELLOWTAIL and WHITE SEA BASS are BITING! The FULL DAY (Overnight) boats are cashing in at both at Catalina and San Clemente Islands. Either one or both of the species are biting with regularity right now. Don't miss out on this very seasonal bite; our overnight boat, "TIDE CHANGE" won't. The limit on the WHITE SEA BASS increased to (3) per passenger this month and the ones that have been caught are the bigger models, so come prepared to load the freezer! We have trips schedule aboard the "TIDE CHANGE" to depart EVERY NIGHT at 9:00 PM. Reservations are definitely a must.
