Contra Loma Reservoir Fishing Report

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The boat ramp facility is FINISHED, and boaters may resume launching at Contra Loma!

Reminder to boaters: All watercrafts (including float tubes) need to have a wearable Coast Guard approved personal floatation device (PFD) per person. Children age 12 and under must wear personal floatation device (PFD) while the vessel is underway.

Fishing has been good. Contra Loma will receive a fish plant the week of March 5th (1000 pounds from CDFW) and another fish plant the week of March 12th (1000 pounds from Mt. Lassen).

TROUT

Trout are biting on the north-west side of the lake. Try using lures, Powerbait or night crawlers.

CATFISH

Try fishing for catfish at Channel Point or Loma Island with anchovies, nightcrawlers or chicken livers. Boaters have been doing well toward the middle of the reservoir or along the dam.

BASS

Black Bass have been biting with artificial baits/lures or nightcrawlers anywhere around the lake or from boats.
