East Bay Regional Park District

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The water temperature is in the low-60s and water clarity is about 4 feet. EBRPD will plant 750 pounds of trout this week (the week of February 19th) and we will receive another plant of 1000 pounds in two weeks (the week of March 5th)! Please follow our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/lakechabot, for weekly updates on fishing conditions. Also, be sure to check out our website for a GREAT Valentine’s deal on a patio boat and lunch with your loved ones, available the entire month of February!!!!

All of our boats are half off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, including Patio Boats!

TROUT

Trout fishing is has been good at Lake Chabot with this cold weather. Raccoon Point remains the go-to place and the first dock by the marina is a popular spot. The trout’s favorite appetizer is mice tails and chartreuse Powerbait.

CATFISH

They are still in the lake! We had an angler come in with a couple of nice catfish that he caught!

BASS

Bass fishing is slow, but some of our more experienced anglers have been reporting some successes. Many anglers are using plastic worms or swim baits. There has been an abundance of smaller size bass (one or two pounds) being caught all over the lake along the shorelines. Senkos have been the most popular bait to use.

Please practice catch and release for bass as they are not stocked into the lake and their population depends on you!
