Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report

6-23-2008
Bruce A. Smith

The yellowtail are still around Cedros, we came upon many spots feeding on the surface but the fish are reluctant to come off their natural feed. There are dozens of spots of krill, sardines and mackerel for the yellows to feed on. Its quite a site to witness a school of yellowtail churning the surface a foamy white, they resemble a tuna foamer. With all that said we left the island this afternoon after boating a meager handful for the morning. Those Catchy Tackle jigs were responsible for a few fish. We did manage to successfully release a 70# black sea bass, and are now running up to fish tuna our last day. Wednesday the Shogun will be departing on another 5 day trip sponsored by Blackwater.
