Hola everyone,
We had excellent fishing today here at the island. In the morning we were making long drifts over areas of yellowtail that ranged in size from 20 pounds upwards to the high 30's, low 40's. Really beautiful fish, so fat and healthy its looks like they are about to explode. This morning the fish came on heavy Yo-Yo irons such as Catchy tackle Sea Strike 33 in blue and white or chartreuse and white, while in the afternoon it was more of a bait fishing deal with a one ounce slider above a 4/0 hook and sardine taking most of the fish.
Here in the pics you can see Rick Isle, Richard Mosier and yours truly posed with a couple of nice ones; Tom Frew from Boise Idaho along with Pat doing the gaffing honors; Six going on the starboard stern; and then the rewards of one of the productive stops!
I personally would like to thank all the sponsors that helped out with the great give aways for the www.BigFishHappen.com trip............. Catchy Tackle for jigs and spinner bomb trolling lures, RingedHooks.com for ringed hooks, stickers and Spanyid jigs and gift certificates 5-Star fish processing for T-shirts, 100 dollar gift certificate Blackwater fluorocarbon for hats and shock leader fluorocarbon
