i Chad, Well it was hot, but not too much humidity. We had a nice breeze two out of the three days. Hope all is well with you. Thanks as always. Best Regards, Theresa Most of the anglers who beat the heat got out on the lakes early and caught limits. Best bite is before 10am and after 1pm. Power bait ( especially orange, sherbet, salmon peach and rainbow), night crawlers, jigs and lures all produced limits. Hot spots for trout include the eastern logged shore and grassy point of lake 3 as well as the eastern and northern shores of lake 2. Bass bite was better early with anglers using night crawlers and senkos to catch bass up to 3 lbs. Hot spots for bass included the wall on the southern end of lake 2 and the northern shore of lake 3 near the pump house. Bluegill were hitting meal worms and jigs with most weighing near one pound. Hot spots for bluegill include the western shore of lake 2 and the northern shore of lake 3. Catches of the Week: Wrightwood angler, Ed Herman caught his 5 lbs 8 ozs rainbow on a gold jake lure near the inlet on the the eastern shore of lake 2. Phil Nagel of Las Vegas reeled in a 4 lbs 7 ozs trout using a power mouse ( orange power bait with a chartruese power worm tail) near the pump house of lake 3. Greg Erland of West Covina used a night crawler to catch his 3 lbs 6 ozs rainbow on the eastern logged shore of lake 3. The Lakes' Hatchery stocks trout every Friday year round. Hours: Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays--7am to 4pm. For more information call (760)240-1107 or go to www.jessranchlakesnews.com.
