Pacific Dawn SFR Charter at Santa Rosa Island

We had another successful SFR Charter aboard Pat Cavanaugh's Pacific Dawn out of Ventura Harbor. We kick started the trip by raffling off some great prizes including some SFR T-shirts, sweatshirts, as well as some fluorocarbon by Seaguar.

This trip was extra special to me because it was one of the Pacific Dawn's last Channel Islands trips of the spring and I had the opportunity to take my best friend fishing for the first time, my wife Jennifer! We headed for Eagle's Nest at Santa Rosa Island in high hopes for some Seabass. We were able to negotiate a few snagged squid away from the seals in the early morning and began our day. Although there were no White Seabass caught, we loaded up on those huge Santa Rosa Reds!

Pat was out spending some quality time hunting for pigs with Jr. so Captain Dustin Selck lead us straight to the fish. The Pacific Dawn now runs out of Fisherman's Landing in San Diego and they've got plenty of great trips lined up, including their incredible skiff trips! Check out their new online reservation system and claim your ticket before it's too late.

That's the word on the water,
