Channel Islands Sportfishing
Report: today we had just one boat out on the water. It was our “lingcod special” that departs every Monday morning in search of some prehistoric cod. This trip usually comes back with some serious meat, and todays special didn’t disappoint. Hitting a spot that they had not fished in a long time they caught 34 Lingcod and some big Red Snapper. Fishing was not reported to be “wide open” by any means, but that’s fishing. A bonus was the weather. Patchy clouds and air temperatures in the low 70’s with little to no wind. Once behind the island the ocean turned glassy calm. Overall it was good fishing and a great way to start our new fishing week!
Today’s Fish Count: 1 Boats and 24 Anglers
34 Lingcod, 115 Rockfish, 4 Perch, 1 Sheephead, and 86 Ocean Whitefish.
