Shogun Sportfishing Fish Report 05-25-2008

Today the Shogun ventured offshore in calm seas once again. We were looking for kelps and found only a few holding yellowtail. Water temperatures are improving and we hope more fish move into our area soon. There were blind strikes on bonito throughout the day, with hookups on live bait at several stops. Next weekend we will be fishing San Clemente, and the following weekend we depart on an 8 day trip to Alijos Rocks. I wouldn't be surprised if we come across albacore on the way down. Great fishing is just around the corner.

The Shogun is currently running south down the Baja coast on a three day trip this weekend. We left Point Loma in high wind and rain, but with little swell. Seas have calmed a bit this evening and conditions should improve through Sunday. Norm has us lined up for some bottom fishing tomorrow morning with a shot at yellowtail if possible. The waters tight to San Martin have been known to kick out a few halibut, so there are many...... Read More
