Del Valle Fishing Report

7-28-2017
East Bay Regional Park District

GENERAL CONDITIONS

The weather this week here at Lake Del Valle has been beautiful with temperatures in the high 80s to mid-90s. Surface temperature is still sitting at 81 degrees. The hot bite this week has been stripers.

CATFISH

Catfish have been showing up more and more as each week passes. Most anglers are using anchovies and mackerel I would also recommend using night crawlers. Fish around fallen trees and weed beds.

BLACK BASS

For large and small mouth bass fish with Senkos, robo worms, crank baits, and even smaller spinners. Most anglers are catching them in coves, around tule patches and rocky points.

STRIPED BASS

For stripers most anglers have been using either anchovies, chicken liver, or sardines. I would recommend fishing around rocky points. If you like to throw lures I would try jerk baits, spoons or a swim jig.
