Hi Everyone
Pretty good fishing today. The ?? open party trip on the Patriot today had 1 yellowtail, 1 white sea bass, 81 calico bass, and 6 sand bass for 33 anglers. Other yellowtail were hooked and lost. Water has warmed signicantly. The Patriot leaves daily at 7 am with about 13 reservations for Monday's (May 19) trip.
The Amigo was on a ?? day charter today at Catalina Island and had a late start and ended up fishing a little later. They ended up with 93 calico bass & 27 bonito and lost several yellowtail for 15 anglers.
The Nautilus on the afternoon ?? day open party trip with Capt Robby ended up with 35 sand bass, 23 calico bass, & 3 sculpin for 19 anglers. Capt Robby said the bass fishing was even better than the count relected with bass biting aggressively throughout the water column. Water has warmed several degrees and summer style fishing has resulted. The Nautilus has 9am to 3pm trips daily this week.
For those of you that enjoy catching yellowtail this week the Patriot might be a pretty good bet.
