Cisco’s Report: WSB biting & More!

7-2-2017
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Finally we were able to get back out to the spot we had been doing so well catching White Seabass. Over the past several days we had not been able to get there because of the wind, thus our Seabass counts dropped dramatically. Today, the weather was good and the fish were still biting! Most of our White Seabass are being caught at the outer islands on overnight trips, but there are still some Seabass and even Yellowtail at the local islands. We had a few fat Yellowtail caught today and one Seabass caught today at the local islands. Largest Yellowtail we heard of this afternoon was 28 pounds. Bass fishing is also very good at the local islands. If not Calico Bass, we have great bottom fishing for Red Snapper and Lingcod to back us up. Barracuda are at all the islands right now, mixed in with the Seabass and Yellowtail. Overall, fishing is pretty good right now. We hope it will continue to get better as the water warms up as it should this time of year. We have more trips going out tomorrow (Monday) and of course on the 4th of July holiday (Tuesday). Plenty of open spots, so give us a call or book online anytime! Today’s Fish Count: 10 Boats and 262 Anglers 1,629 Assorted Rockfish, 42 Lingcod, 4 Sculpin, 350 Ocean Whitefish, 68 Sheephead, 4 Perch, 77 Calico Bass, 21 Barracuda, 6 Yellowtail, and 34 White Seabass.
