THE MAZATLAN FISH REPORT - THE ARIES SPORTFISHING FLEET

4-24-2008
Larry Edwards

The fishing had been tough enough and then, add the full moon to the
mix, making it even more difficult this past week. While the water
temps are inching up slowly, the anglers and skippers are anxiously
awaiting the arrival of the dorado masses at the buoys, which should
start in the next few weeks. The overall offshore counts for 24 days
fished reflected 3 sailfish, 8 stripers, 1 mako shark and 9 dorado,
(to 40 lbs.) Even the inshore super pangas had difficult fishing
this past week and reported 13 vaquetas, 5 pargo, 1 corvina and 14
lenguas for 9 fishing days.

Mazatlan Climate: Mostly sunny and warm days, temps ranged from 57 nights to 91 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly calm with temps at 73 inshore and rising to
75-76 offshore, calm for the most part with very light tropical breezes.

Best Fishing Area: Continuous to be isolated single fish catches
with no special area better than another.

Best Lure/Bait: Rigged baits produced all of the offshore catches
this week.
