SMOOTH SAILING
This will be a short one as we have been traveling since yesterday noon and won’t arrive at our destination until very early tomorrow morning. About the only thing I can comment on is the weather and that can be summed up in one word….. perfect! All the elements you ask for, sunny, warm, flat calm, etc. were in full force. The day was spent watching movies, telling stories and conjecturing about the fishing to come. Heavy napping was also the order of the day as this could be the last time to rest up for the duration of the trip. Everyone is happy and doing great, and sorry, but that’s about as far as I can spin this restful day at sea.
POEM OF THE DAY
You’d seine one on occasion
But now there’s no evasion
The shrimp from Soule
Are out of control
It’s an Asian crustacean invasion!

12-12-2016It was another beautiful, hot, sunny day with more tuna coming aboard up to 160 pounds. A few more wahoo also came around and decided to stay for the ride home. Fishing starts daily here around 3 AM and doesn’t stop until the sun goes down. It makes for long and tiring days, but you’ll hear no complaints as we are all doing what we love. The food continues to be plentiful, imaginative, and delectable, with Tom and...... Read More

Today we began tuna fishing in earnest. It turned out to be an excellent day with every one pulling on fish and a darn good time all around. Tuna were divided into two classes, 80# to 120# and 140# to 180# with one cow (so far) which weighed 217 pounds caught by Jim Sharp on the kite. As you should remember, Jim’s son Tim (aka The Kid) who is on his first long range, proved again that he’s got a...... Read More
