Royal Polaris Crew
Today we began tuna fishing in earnest. It turned out to be an excellent day with every one pulling on fish and a darn good time all around. Tuna were divided into two classes, 80# to 120# and 140# to 180# with one cow (so far) which weighed 217 pounds caught by Jim Sharp on the kite. As you should remember, Jim’s son Tim (aka The Kid) who is on his first long range, proved again that he’s got a natural talent for this sport. He shattered his personal best with an estimated 150 pounder, and that was just one of several tuna that he landed today. Another very hot angler of note was Bruce Posthumus well known on this trip for releasing all of his fish, but that sure didn’t stop him from hooking up and bringing to color numerous tuna today. We began fishing around 4 this morning, and we had fairly steady action most all day long on both bait and the kite. The only complaint I could imagine about the weather today was that it was warm and sunny enough to work up a profuse sweat while fighting these very tough fish. That’s hardly a complaint by the way, especially from someone like myself, who’s probably missing freezing temperatures back home. We were all already happy and having fun and today’s action has elevated those feelings to a whole new level. With so much time left, we surely expect even better and bigger things in the near future. We will try and augment out bait supply tonight, and hit it hard again tomorrow.
POEM OF THE DAY
I saw the Skate on a date with a guy
And so, just to know, asked him why
It turns out the Skate
Though mostly straight
When stoned, has been known, to Skate-Bi.

We’ve been experiencing technical difficulties getting the reports out and I already did several which either didn’t get out or got lost in cyberspace We think we’ve got a work around, and if you’re reading this it must have worked. I’ll try and briefly bring you up to...... Read More
