Though a slow day overall my confidence about this zone is not shaken. There are enough signs pointing to untapped potential. The road block at present is conditions. A little flow around here would go a long way. All day long we swayed and lolled around, lines barely trailing off in every direction. Far from ideal, and downright frustrating to fish in, the guys hung tough but didn't make much headway in the process. Such is fishing. I'll save reader's the old cliche.

Here for the duration we'll have another go at 'em tomorrow following a heavenly respite protected from the bump and roll on the weather side of this haven. Bonus of the day, though we weren't too hungry for them, was a new influx of eager, good grade wahoo that definitely made up some of the difference as we surveyed the area. Never ones to kick the gift horse in the mouth we accommodated every beauty that made it over the rail treating them to a first class, air conditioned ride back to San Diego.

Photo for the day rightly features first time Royal Star angler, but no stranger to fishing, Steve Riggs, a.k.a. The Hammer, who lived up to his name during a heated battle with his first deuce. Weighing in at a solid 224 full bragging rights are rightly assigned to The Hammer on day one in the Giant Yellowfin Tuna zone.
