Only 3 boats went out fishing today but everyone on board caught plenty of fish with plenty of elbow room. They also enjoyed some of the best ocean conditions we’ve seen in weeks. The Ranger 85 had a charter with Dan Hernandez filming for an upcoming episode of “Fishing with Dan Hernandez”. Captain Dustin took him to a few of his honey holes for big Reds and Lings. The game fish bite has been nonexistent at the outer islands, so the Ranger crew rigged everyone up for fishing deep to catch quality bottom fish. The Sea Jay also went out today on an open full day trip. They tried bass fishing but the Calico’s wouldn’t cooperate so Captain Donald Fuqua took his 10 anglers to a Whitefish spot that put out limits in an hour. Lastly, we had the Aloha Spirit go out on their Monday “Lingcod Special”. Captain Pat was at the helm today and after last Monday’s “slay fest” by Captain Shawn he had his work cut out for him. Fortunately, the fish gods were on Pat’s side because he had no trouble putting his anglers on fish today. They caught limits of Lingcod plus a bunch of other bonus fish before calling it a day.
