Channel Islands Sportfishing
Heck of a way to start the weekend! Not only did we have beautiful weather but the fishing was outstanding. If you want bottom fish to fill the freezer we are catching boat loads of Whitefish, Lingcod and assorted Rockfish species mostly consisting of Reds and Chucks. The surface bite is not on fire by any means but like today it shows flashes of life. We had some Yellowtail and even a White Seabass caught. We also weighed a Seabass at our official I.G.F.A. weigh station caught by a private boater that was just shy of 62 pounds! What will get your attention most is the Bluefin Tuna in the count today. Yes, we had tuna caught on a 2-day trip that is returning tonight. Caught in the dark last night during the moon, the Bluefin were reported to all be massive. In fact only 3 out of 21 were under 100 pounds said captain Dustin on the Ranger 85. We are still waiting for photos to come in from that trip but we have plenty from our other trips today. Of course we will post photos of the Tuna later this evening as they come in.
We have Sunday to look forward to and again good conditions to fish either the coast or islands. If you can get away, give us a call or book online because there is ample rail space available on our full day, ¾ and ½ day trips departing tomorrow morning. Fishing is great and as today showed, you never know what you’ll catch when your fishing the Northern Channel islands with Cisco’s.
