Cisco's fishing report for Sunday 9/25
9-25-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing
Sunday at Cisco’s ended up being as mellow as your average weekday. Only half the boats went out because of the ominous forecast that never truly developed. Yesterday we cancelled a few sold out boats because the “Santa Ana Winds” was supposed to blow hard along the coast and at the islands. The wind did come up, but much later than predicted and half as hard as they thought. So basically, our anglers today enjoyed plenty of elbow room and little pressure from other boats on the fishing grounds. As for fishing, it ended up being a nice day. The Yellowtail did not want to bite but there was plenty of other species that did. We caught good numbers of Bonito, Red Snapper, Whitefish and Lingcod. A few lucky anglers hooked into Yellowtail and the luckiest or most skilled of them landed them. The Bonito bite was excellent today though. Not giants but big enough to give our anglers a bit of a run. One boat even caught a couple Halibut of which we hadn’t seen any of those in a while. By the days end, everyone departing the boats said they had a great time and judging by the fillet bags in their hands they caught plenty of fish.
Today’s Fish Count: 5 boats and 124 anglers.
6 Yellowtail, 85 Bonito, 2 Halibut, 1 Sole, 131 Whitefish, 6 Sheephead, 54 Lingcod and 540 assorted Rockfish.
