Fish Report for 9-24-2016

Eureka Rockies and Lings Rippin

Marc Schmidt

We had a beautiful fall ocean yesterday to run below cape Mendocino to explore the most unfished section of the state. We found what we were looking for on the first drift. We had lots of big vermillion to go with easy limits of lings and the other assorted rockfish for the crew of four and the captain in just a couple hours of fishing. It was also the last day of Pacific Halibut for 2016 but we did not participate but it sounds like it ended with a bang with many being caught for the fleet. I will be running rockfish trips till the end of Oct, hopefully a couple more tuna runs also, and will have some crab gear in the water for the crab opener the first Saturday in Nov. Call me to get one last load for your freezer before it is over for this season. Happy Fall All!! 707-601-3474
