Fish Report for 9-13-2016

Cisco's Report for Tues. 9/13

9-13-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Tuesday the bite continued with all the boats catching Yellowtail. Some got more than others but overall a great day to be on the water. Weather was good too. With reports of scattered rain throughout the area, we had sunny skies and no rain. Again, we are imploring our anglers to bring heavy gear for these Yellows. So many fish are being lost for a variety of reasons but most of all these fish are fired up and ripping line! They are ranging from 25 to 40 pounds and we are fishing near submerged structure so you need to have some pulling power. We cannot control Sea Lions and tangles are inevitable but we can control the tackle so please, no less than 30 pound but preferably 40 pound or heavier! It’s all flyline, so simply bring a range of live bait hooks and a few sliding sinkers. Not much else needed. Oh! Book your spot of course. Most of our boats are limited load and those that aren’t it’s nice to know how many to expect so we staff the boat accordingly. Today’s Fish Count: 6 boats and 128 anglers. 118 Yellowtail, 2 Calico Bass, 1 Barracuda, 1 Bonito, 39 Lingcod, 3 Sheephead, 105 Whitefish and 175 Assorted Rockfish.
